Raising Children of Character in a Culture of Vices - Short Course

Every generation inherits a world it did not create and then decides what it will pass on. Children are the people who will eventually carry our families, organisations, communities and institutions forward. That makes the way we raise them more than a private family concern. It is a generational responsibility.
When adults talk about children, the conversation often becomes focused on performance: school results, behaviour, obedience, appearance, talent or achievement. Those things matter, but they are not the whole child. A child is also developing a conscience, a sense of identity, emotional habits, social skills, judgment, resilience and a growing understanding of responsibility.
This is why intentional parenting matters. Children are constantly learning, even when nobody is formally teaching them. They learn from how adults handle conflict, how money is discussed, how mistakes are treated, how promises are kept, how strangers are treated, how technology is used and how responsibility is shared at home.
